Check out the “I AM” app for more mindful days

I recently downloaded the affirmations app – “I AM” and I’m finding a lot of value in it as it helps me navigate stressful times.

I am someone who struggles with ruminations over all kinds of problems, big problems, small and everything in between. I tend to go straight to worst case scenarios when negative thinking takes over and this affects my sleep which, as we all know, affects everything else.

It’s an exhausting domino effect.

But when I am reminded to stay mindful and switch to more positive perspectives I do better. This is where forced positive affirmations come in.

The “I AM” app is unique with its streamlined and simplistic yet powerful offerings. I am paying just $1.88 a month to have the app notify me of positive and uplifting affirmations about once every hour. How helpful is that??

It’s like my own personal reminding me how great I am all day!

In addition to them having categorized affirmations, they have a favorites section and a place where you can make your own. I’ve been mixing it up quite a bit based on my mood.

I may use the “personal growth” category when I’m needing a mental boost or the “health and well being” category when I need some motivation. There’s many different options.

I also love coming up with my own affirmations, or adding an affirmation after reading an inspiring book or article. Based on my emotional needs for the day I can tailor my “playlist” to whatever works best.

You can have the affirmations pinged to you where they pop up automatically on your phone and you can also go into the app as needed to scroll through the various playlists. There’s fun colors and designs to play around with too based on your preferences.

Affirmations have been proven to be beneficial for our over all well being when used regularly. I personally have found them very useful to help stop these ruminating thoughts, or when I start catastrophizing situations.

The affirmations bring me back to the present moment and help set my thinking in a more optimistic direction.

Check out the post I wrote for evidence based research and some of my favorite examples such as:

I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY

I AM STRONG AND CONFIDENT

I TAKE CARE OF MY BODY

LIFE IS 10% WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU AND 90% HOW YOU REACT TO IT

I STAY CALM AND IN CONTROL WHEN FACED WITH PROBLEMS

I AM PRODUCTIVE AND USEFUL

What are some of your favorite affirmations? Jot them down and consider adding them to the “I AM” app with your download. There is a free version as well if you wanted to try that out for a bit before committing to a purchase.

Good luck and HAPPY MINDING!
